What will it take to make West Ham capable of competing for the top 6 and titles?
And 2 will it ever happen?

Will West Ham be stuck in mid table mediocrity and relegation battles for ages ?

Or worse go down and stay down for ages ala Leeds ?

I know I know alot of questions but sorry for wanting the team I support to evolve ve and get better!

So to get to the main question again what will it take for us to (no I wont use the Daves term to get to the next level as I´m sick of that term) get better and evolve year after year without shorttermism and incompetence?

The owners have just been voted the worst in the prem by talk sport so it´s obvious the rot starts at the top but do you really trust them to sell to someone who has the clubs best interests at heart? Just look at Birmingham ffs and their history of lies since they took over.

Seriously the future of the club is bleak and something big needs to happen to change that.

So again WHAT THE FUCK WILL IT TAKE?

The reality is that Premier League football is now no more than a billboard for global brands to use as they please.

It's fast becoming a sanitised pastiche of what everything about the game made it what it is.

Within 5 years, maybe 10, it will basically be rounds of exhibition matches, played in whatever location a particular sponsor wants to raise product local awareness - with the added attraction being that, wherever the game is played, there will be a captive (mostly non-UK) TV audience eager to lap up what's served to them. 20 slightly different flavours of football's version of the Harlem Globetrotters.

To be honest, that's not where I want the team I support to be playing their game, so, forgive me if I'm less than enthusiastic about all this "Next Level" bollocks.

What needs to happen?

Well, if the advertising agencies get their way, the Premier League will morph into a European "Super League", with about 12 UK based teams and a few token offerings from the rest of Europe.

There will be no competition-based promotion to/relegation from such a league and at least one team from Israel will have an automatic place in that league (but not at the expense of teams like Tottenham. Liverpool, Ajax et al. That's NOT anti-Semitic, that's just the way things have been going ever since really big money entered the game).

Naturally, all the teams in this league will enter the FA cup at the 3rd (or even later, to fully recognise their "status") stage.

West Ham? Will end up in whatever the current Championship becomes. Our games will be on some obscure stream that fans will have to seek out every time there's a match.

We might occasionally make it past the quarter-finals of the son of the League Cup - it will be about the only football related semi many of us will ever experience again in our lives.

Much better staff.

I keep reading in the press how the best people cost more money, so maybe it's time for Sullivan to charge more interest, and time for Andy Carroll to get a rise. That should do it.

They could have all the money in the world, it's getting increasingly harder for owners to put money into football clubs these days. the likes of man city manage it by the likes of their women's team payi9ng the main club 20m per season for 'logistics' and sponsoring their own training ground for tens of millions each season. even abramovic has to pay something like 2m for his own box just to try to funnel some money into the club. what we need are owners who are not only wealthy but also astute at running a football club.

I'm not fussed to be honest. I would love to see us win a cup at some stage as reward for the hours and money spent.

I just want to go home though, and be the Football club we were.

Re: What will it take to make West Ham capable of competing for the top 6 and titles?
They all get round it Trev....or some are actually happy to take a fine if it means it breeds success. What you need is someone mad/ballsy enough to want to be the best and to pump money into a project such as Sheikh Mansour has

There is a other way however....and thats to get a genius chariman and a very good manager and have a very profitable and successful football model. Hate to say it but Mr Levy and Spurs have proven that you dont need ridiculous cash to compete
